                      This is such an outstanding picture. I've seen it before somewhere, but like it even more now. A completed baton and one still in its component parts -- the tube without the velvet covering -- the various parts for the caps -- the artisan attaching the EK to one of the ends -- the side eagle laying there to be attached. Excellent reference for how these batons were made.
