I just picked up one just like the one James Clark has... same medals but with matching ribbon bar that came from a family of a member that was in the Fallschirmjager.
Other bars are nice too, but I know there are always questions concerning the bars that have near mint ribbons and the medals are worn and aged. What are your thoughts on this?
I know members often question this attribute and think the medals are recently mounted using new ribbon material that can be acquired through online dealers. Not making any assumptions here, just asking thoughts and opinions.
Hello folks,
I found this old photo. It was taken in 1980 of my friends medal bar collection. Sadly, this collection was sold off in 1981, but I just wanted to share with you what my friend obtained in the 1970's for little or no money invested.
What a great collection he had. BTW, the parade mounted Cross of Honor for relatives killed in Spain was offered to me for $150 (back in 1981), and like an idiot I passed on it. It later ended up with Ray Zyla of the Cracked Pot.
Nice collection....and regarding the parade mounted Spanish Cross for the NOK....we have all made dumb errors that we can look back on. If I had a dime for all the great pieces I passed up!!
