Could everybody putting up pictures of their medal bars please post pictures of the reverse. The 1st medal bar i ever bought had to go back as it was a wartime medal bar which had been added to post war.
    Thanks, Ant.

Don´t confuse. It´s not a repro. Although it´s not wartime, this medal is still available as a replacement for veterans. As I said in another post, the quality is very poor, but it´s official. So it´s not a fake or a repro as you may want to consider it. There are plenty of them at the military tailors, mixed up with modern awards, badges, headgear, pins, etc...

This is also confusing for me. I have a few medals and I never noticed anything like that. Probably I considered it a very common medal.

      Regards,
      Adolph.
      Muchas Gracias por la ayuda!
Thank you Adolph for your input.
It is courious to see how a simple and common medal originated a discussion like this one...we are having now...

        Dear All,

I just took a look on some Militaria sites of European Dealers, and among several Spanish Campaign Medals, I noticed ONLY ONE Spanish Campaign Medal with "baloon"...which has already been sold...
So it may me think that those with "ballon" are much more seldom, so may be were the first ones to be produced in 1938...

        regards

            Ciao Quex,

What I was trying to say is that those Medals like in the photo are much more seldom than the ones without this particularity.(on the black circle).

            regards

              Ciao Ciano,

sicuramente, but the differences are the signature and the small
triangle little particular... the suspension with ring IMO is the first question

Adolf, thank you for your insight about the medal we thought was a 'reproduction." We now know better! Adolf, do you know if Egana licensed other companies to manufacture this medal for them?

I'm attempting to compile a photo catalog of differences in this medal. Joe D. is going to provide more detailed front/back photos of one of his medals I need before I post my results. So far, I've found 8 distinct variations; there are probably more. I'd like to narrow-down the variations that are considered pre-1945 manufacture - if that's possible. However, if Industrias Egana used the whole series of dies through their entire minting period (late 1930s through late 1970s), my quest may be futile. Either way, it's a fun project and we may lean something new. Please keep the information and photos coming!

                Scott

I took some pictures of my medals, at least the ones that present any variation.
It took me a while , but I guess it´s worth.
I´ve put the number of the medal by the side of each one, so you can see the details in the following posts.

                  Regards,
                  Adolph.

About medal 3, it´s the same as medal 1, but without the "balloon".
I hope you enjoy the tour.

                        Regards,
                        Adolph.
