Thanks for the look at those amazing pictures Bill
I wish I had known you were down in Corpus as I used to go down there quite a bit (Ingleside) a few years ago when working for the Navy.
You don't by chance have any pictures taken in Sicily 1943? I've been trying to research what the FJs wore during the engagement with the Brits at the Primosole Bridge July12-18. I'm almost sure they wore the tropical uni, but not sure what other equipment (blue pouches, bags, etc) they might have worn.

Bob,
Thanks!! Ingleside has closed down due to BRAC but it didn't effect NAS Corpus Christi and the Army Depot. The Army Depot will never go away as long as all the services have helicopters that need to be rebuilt/repaired.
I would have to search through my albums as it is pretty darn rare to find FJ photos in Sicily. I have plenty of LW flight (Aircrews) and flak units that wore tropical in Sicily but they were posted on the island.
I looked into one of my books Fallschirmjaeger Bildband und Chronik by Rudolf Boehmler. and on pages 304/305 it shows a photo of Primosole-Brucke. It states that FJR 3 fought the British 1st Parachute Brigade. One photo shows two FJ wearing tropicial uniforms with tan painted helmets carrying a wounded british soldier and another pic shows a FJ wearing tropical uniform with MP40 and green or blue pouches, guarding a Canadian Captain. On page 307 it shows General Heidrich addressing FJ's of FJR 3 all are wearing tropical uniforms. It looks to me that they wore a mixture of field equipment with their tropical uniforms.
I will let you know if I find any pics on Sicily. Bill

Thanks Bill!
Can you tell what type of uniform the Brit soldier (or para) was wearing in the photo you mentioned? I'd like to know if it was the Battle Dress or the Khaki Drill. From one of the other post topics on Sicily (about half way down the FJ topic page) there was a discussion about the Primosole Bridge battle and who was wearing what. I'm wondering if the brit paras wore the KD uniform, KD shorts, or a comination of KD and BD. From all I can find I think the FJs all wore tropical and from what Willi said he saw pictures of them without the smock.
