                Thanks for the photos, Bill. Those portraits showing scarfs are quite interesting. You comment that the FJ on the right has a Edelweiss... I can´t distinguish it well. Might it also be a "unit badge" (3.FJD as well as the "Meindl badge"...)?

                  Just my quess since the size indicates that it may be an edelweiss and I have other photos in my collection of FJ wearing edelweiss insignia on their caps. Bill

                  Here is a close up of the cap badge too me it has the shape of the edelweiss.

                    Yes, indeed, the size/shape are the clue... Your guess will be probably right. Firstly I was inclined to say that it may be the "Meindl Badge"... But it´s difficult to say for sure... Thanks again!

                      The size and shape are definitely a factor here is a another close up of the FJ cap in the single portrait.
