Just curious how can you tell and as I see no evidence of a glass eye! I have a friend who does and you certainly can tell that he does.

Hi Bill,

Well, it's not looking at the camera, the pupil is slightly larger than the other eye, it appears flat instead of rounded and doesn't have the lustre of a natural juicy eyeball! Of course I have no hard and fast evidence but I've seen a few glass eyes in my time and they tend to look like this, including recently, when my wife's obstetrician was away on holidays and another doctor filled in for him. This replacement doctor had a glass eye (sounds like a joke: "Did you hear the one about the one-eyed obstetrician?"), so I had a good chance to study it over a number of visits.

The glass-eyed soldier has a wound badge, so it would be nice to think he got it for losing his eye. Anyway, it's of no importance, just an observation.
