#2 Another photo of Von der Heydte? Many of the photos in this fairly large grouping show various types of training so I assume that the unit is I Battalion, 3rd FJ Regiment which he commanded and jumped with into Kreta on 20 May 1941

No writing on the reverse of that photo just the photo shop Budow Marktredwitz... here are two other snaps from the same grouping that I believe may also be Von der Heydte and marked to Foto Lange, Braunschweig

I don't think so. I scanned through my reference book on KC Holders of the FJ by Franz Kurowski and Bohmler looks nothing like this officer...the nose however appears to match a pic of Von der Heydte. I'm sure Erwin will be able to ID that photo.

Hello Bill

This guy looks really like von der Heydte with a camo smock. This person is wearing the rank of oberstleutnant. The other two are not von der Heydte, imho i think this is another person. He is wearing the rank of oberleutnant or leutnant
