The SS-Fallschirmjager who received the Heer badges did not receive their A4 Fallschirmschutzen-Abzeichen des Heeres certificates until November and December 1944, if they got them at all. The unit had to request for the documents through SSFHA, which then processed them and sent them back to the SS-Fsch.-Jg- Btl. for distribution.

The first two or three SS courses through Fallschirmschule III in Serbia got Fallschirmschutzen-Abzeichen des Heeres but the small stock obtained by the battalion's training wing was quickly used up.
Most if not all of the Brandenburg Fallschirmjager received the Fallschirmschutzen-Abzeichen des Heeres. The majority of the production of Fallschirmschutzen-Abzeichen des Heeres was delivered to OKH, which had priority, while the SS-Fallschirmjager Btl. , formed three months beforehand, only managed to acquire a few.

          Interesting information

Hi. SS Panzergrenadier Division Totenkopf had a Panzergrenadier Regiment numbered 3 until the reorganisation to a Panzer Division.

Not a day goes by that I don't learn something new on this forum … and today is no exception.

Thank you beef_supreme, PanzerElite, and Willi for your "Totenkopf" input. I appreciate your taking the time to explain this to me.

I still have so much to learn.

Yes, very true and good catch.

Regarding the CT in the photo, I had focused on the 2 "T"s within the first 3 letters.

GJ boots seem to have been worn any time they were available in lieu of jump boots. Anyone who has worn jump boots (US, German, etc, of any era) knows how useless they are in wet grass, snow, ice, or mud. Only designed for wear inside an aircraft while shuffling out the door,....

Correction on the picture cuff title, it's indeed Totenkopf. I have checked it again, this time wearing my glasses ;-)
here's the backside of the picture:
