            Thanks, Ramjet.

Many purists can't stand pieces which have been restored, even with insignia which is
appropriate. This is an original rare factory-issued LW wrap in wonderful condition, which had been improperly restored as a Heer wrap by someone who didn't realize what it was. When I got it, the badge loops and EKII ribbon appeared, to me, to have been period-applied, so I left them alone.

            Don't wish to offend anyone.........

Appropriate restoration isn't bad for me, in the contrary.

I would be glad if the photo could stay in this thread.

                  So You are outnumbered, Leroy.
                  Let Your wrapper pic stay.

                  @ Gene:

Great stuff! I remember the officer sidecap and the wrapper from Scott Pritchett's "Panzer Feldjacke" Vol. IV.

Here is a rare photo, a period studio portrait of a member of the HG Division wearing the field grey M43 tunic and cap.

                      Great pic!

You obviously are a fan of field-grey HG stuff, John.

Just noticed that the right breast pocket was attached atop the eagle and not the other way round. Quite interesting.

Steve, well spotted! You can also see this manufacturing technique/ variation with some Heer tunics too. As well as wartime pictures Glenn McInnes has/ had some Heer (M41/ M43 at least) examples in his collection.

Another nice pic from the pre-war era: Officers and a Spieß (on the right) of the Regiment General Göring talking in an office, most probably in the Berlin-Reinickendorf barracks.

Today arrived two new items for my HG collection: A large pic of the Musikkorps HG in Turin and a cufftitle.

                                The pic:

Edit: Have to scan it new, will follow later.
