No Steve, I didn't miss it.....most of us just passed on it and it sold on the 3rd day. It came over from your island! Too much $$$$...

I did however miss a nice unattached eagle which was very cheap...

Mathieu, it was great to meet you at the Max and to have spent some quality time with you and your friends!

Good! Perhaps it might come my way in a trade someday.

Thanks Steve. What you are seeing on the back is a brown material, but it is part of the eagle. I don't think it's part of the smock. However, I'm still learning about these so other opinions are certainly welcome.

                    Thanks, Larry.
I think they used splinter-over-green smock material for the eagle. I have seen a few eagles like this - where the splinter camo is on the back of the eagle. I know Willi and John have seen them too. I bet they are more common than we realise - you can't see it once the eagle is sewn to a smock.
                    Nice eagle !

just wanted to add a better picture to this great thread, I am few years too late to start collecting these I think!

                        Cheers

John, it is never too late to start collecting smock eagles!

Thought I would bring this thread back to life.

Though not a smock eagle, I think it is sewn to a splinter HBT ground division jacket.

Although I am still searching for a sign of some splinter camo peeking out somewhere , eagles sewn to HBT jackets usually have the presence of a pocket seam from the jacket behind the swaz. Ground division jackets do not have those pockets.
