Ah, the reverse is like the tropical breast eagle of mine that Willi did not like.

108/109 is a smooth green backed eagle found on some late war splinter and tan/water smocks. Interesting question considering the emails I have been receiving today...

In your experience is it unusual to see these on splinter Steve?

                      John,
I don't have the range of experience you and Willi have. Until yesterday ( ) #108 was the only one had seen. In all honesty I didn't know what to make of it when it was first posted, but assumed it must be OK because neither you or Willi queried it. The material looks very much like the fake zeltbahn camo eagles we all know. I quess you have seen a few in your time. Could you post some more, perhaps ?

                      Here's #108
                      Regards,
                      Steve

P.S. Both of the ones I've seen have a washed-out appearance. Comment ?

                        Hi Steve,

I think the smock in question is fine, but of course would like a "hands on" to be sure. The eagle's backing can have an uneven look because the backing is so thin.

Yes, I have had late war splinter smocks with these eagles. Not sure if I still have any cut examples. Will check sometime, but much too busy to presently.
                        Best,
                        John
