Thanks guys! Howard, hope you are making the journey to the Max.

The last two eagles are likely to have been removed from lightweight Luft pilot's jackets. I am still doing some research on those and checking with owners of those jackets. Not like the other gray smock eagles we encounter.

Pic this one up. Not sure if it is from a smock or field coat. Any info would be great. Any idea of value would be helpful, I don't wish to sell it but have no idea what they sell for? Thanks

Where did you get that? eBay perhaps? There is someone faking cut eagles with that exact pattern of water fabric (the lighter inside) with wool eagles (because they are easy to find and add).

Mike, as Steve pointed out the top one is for a HBT GD jacket. Obviously the second one is a textbook smock eagle!

Here is a nice early smock eagle we just picked up on a big chunk o' smock, the US veteran served with the 91st div in Italy. There was some DAK insignia with him too!

Been looking at the various eagles, quick question, I see jump smock eagles with different arms of the swastika dominant, that is, either the top leg or the side leg is stitched all the way through, and appears on top of the other leg, is there any rhyme or reason as to why this was done, and not one style, or is it simply a case of manufacturer variation?

No rhyme or reason, but each manufacturer has a particular style.
