It would have been interesting to look at any underlying trends to the responses in your survey.

I would suggest that age, geographical location etc may have played a part in an individual's selection.

My choice was influenced by my parents' wartime memories, the wartime posters and photographs of the threat formed by the German paras in an invasion of the UK. The posters and pictures were based on the German paras in Holland and Narvik.

I agree Geoff. We all seem to take into account our personal experiences, and it would appear that geographical location plays a major role. I would venture that many in Western Europe would feel differently than the US, Sourthern Europe, or the East. Or even other parts of the globe such as the Pacific, etc.

I wanted to initally keep it simple, but I still feel some repsonded based on the smock they prefer, and not which they feel best represents the image of a FJ. I do plan on expanding this theme at a later date.

I re-enactment Fallschirmjager and i prefer the green instep smock.

But for late-war i use the water-tarn open smock.

I am sorry but that is not the question and intent of this survey. It is not about which one we prefer, but which one we think best represents the image of the FJs. There will be other surveys in the future.

I have many (repro) smocks and i voted green m38/m40. Like Crete1941 and Holland 1940 but the green-instep is used till the end of WW2.
