If by "schoolyard" you imply this thread is educational, it is.

Fakers "could sew 'blue' wool backed eagles to their fake jackets"????? Please post a photo of a Sumpf jacket with an authentic wool backed eagle. Would love to see one!

As I stated, we will continue discussing why a piece is good or bad, and will try to do so without giving too much information to fakers. Edwin is far better equipped to purchase an authentic FD jacket on his own now, and at a greatly reduced risk of making another mistake. A simplistic, "it's bad" would not have left him so prepared.

If so, what would that say?, personally I always address (by personal message or reply) the one I have a “problem” with in person, not behind there back. Discussing the piece?, besides me there where three other respected members who stated that the type of HBT used in this fake smock where also used in know reproductions as the “HG” sumpf wraps and sumpf HBT Heer “sniper” smocks, unfortunately you didn’t even took the effort to, with respect to content, reply to them. Not once my replies towards you got indecent nor did, as you, I accuse someone of talking rant or having some sort of agenda, I do comprehend that personally you interpret my replies as unfriendly because I didn’t agree with you. I’m sorry you feel that way and if, to your opinion, my replies violated any forum rules someone should give me an infraction or perhaps even a ban, unfortunately, to be honest, regarding these kind of discussions, I really could care less.

            Enough of this nonsense! Seriously....

No one thought this jacket is original. John is only saying that there is much we do not know yet. It is possible that they made water pattern jackets in HBT. We just haven't seen one yet. His point is that we must consider each one on it's own merit rather than just say it is wrong because they didn't make any. And, rather than just give a or it is nice to be able to help others decide for themself whether it is good or bad.

Excellent thread - IMO worth reviving -
What are the thoughts on this FD smock - ?
Offered to me on a FB trading forum.

I was thinking it was good, until the discussion I found here on the lack of, or extreme rarity, HBT FD smocks.

                    Understatement, sadly.

Certainly an original jacket. Besides the eagle area issues, the front buttons look replaced.

Always interesting to see an old thread brought back to life.
