The shell good but the paint doesn't seems to be original and the liner and chinstrap looks fake as well.

I'm not 100% sure the shell is OK - can't put my finger on it but the shape looks wrong - Czech shell maybe?

Original very early SD shell and liner , can't tell a lot about late war bolts .

Thank You Eubank und Andre, Eubank I second the BS call. Bad pics always say "NO" to. You know it has gotten so bad out there with fakers of FJ Helm's (early or not) I hate to even post what I've learned or know about these rare old birds for fear of fakers learning more about them and try and apply my pointers. So I'll share in P.M.'s to people I KNOW ARE REAL COLLECTORS and not some Polish mfg.'ers looking for tips. They already are catching onto letters and number stamps and are hard at that. So just know those tricks new collectors. I did however get lucky in there on a "REAL" one and early one too. BUT, I was the first one to make a offer that was accepted in the first 5 minutes of them posting and ONLY because I have gone blind looking at real ones and fake ones too. Weight is always a factor though and that is all I will say in public.

I'm not a big expert, but for me is clear that liner, pads, are fake 100%. Some big doubts with the shell also, but I would leave comments to the real skilled fj collectors.

Afraid of Snakes!!

All,
Mainly I hang out on the firearms forum. I've gathered a few "lids" as you folks like to talk about them. But I've been afraid of FJ stuff like they were poisonous snakes. Just too many fakes and plain bogus stuff. Besides, if they are real, they are way past my budget.. Till I stumbled on this "relic" a couple of weeks ago.
Like Shultz, "I know nothing!" But somehow this one spoke to me. Yep, it's damn sure a relic, which made me think more about it being the real thing. And being a relic, I could maybe afford it. It is said to come out of Ft. Bliss in El Paso.
