            My only F.J. Helmet

            Goodmorning gentlemen (local time)

I hope one day to "pick up" a nice camouflage one.

But it looks as if they are all in the hands of some of our fellowcollectors.

            Best

Guys , more interesting items showed from your collections , love helmets in any configuration and also appreciate your friendly comments, dug up items really can open some pages of the events as well as they always bring the breath of the war. This is why I very focused on them.
Jens , I remember that winter camo and I wanted buy it many years ago it came from Estonia, right?
Looking for FJR2 combat pics in Russia.

Can it be a lay down spread David, or are you looking for a mannequin display? The mannequin is harder because I will have to "undress" one of them as none are FJR6 at this time.

                      This thread still rocks gentlemen!

Very fine helmet Tony. Please post a close up of the decal sometime.

                      Best,

John , if you find time to fulfill another request, and if this isn't too much of a cheek, a shot or two of your Khaki DD Alamein " medical tape" helmet, with random equipment would be great to see. That has to be my favourite helmet of all, just love the colour and character of it

Sorry A, that helmet is gone. Sold it to a good friend about 7 years ago to fund a garage for another favorite pastime. The helmet sale covered the entire project down to the last penny. Sometimes ya just have to make hard choices.

A few photos of Dal McGuirk's jump smock. This smock is extremely interesting as it was taken from Crete by a New Zealand soldier. It is not a converted step in, but an altered step in, and probably altered on Crete.

Here is what Dal has been able to glean about the smock: "it was likely one carried off Crete by a NZ'er who had it wrapped around his Bren gun when he walked out into the sea to board a long boat that had been sent in to the shore at night by one of the Royal Navy destroyers evacuating the Anzac and British soldiers who had made it to the south coast of the island."

Certainly an important piece of Fj history, the smock is dated 12/40.
