    Fronti, go back and take a look at the examples i posted. It doesn't make sense with what you are saying.

    It is the same as with larger formations where an officer was appointed to lead a unit and that appointment was later made permanent but he still kept the same rank.

      Hello

      I am tired of discussing this fact.
      Check what I wrote above (Kompanieführer/Kompaniechef), that is fact.

      If you don't belive me, check:

      1.) German Bundesamt - Militärarchiv

      2.) MGFA (Militärgeschichtliches Forschungsamt der Bundeswehr) Potsdam.

      3.) German HDV (Heeres Dienstvorschrift)

      4.) Herman Niederleig (LSSAH) served as a Kompanietrupp Soldier under Hein Springer and Hermann Dahlke (Both Ritterkreuz)
      Listen from 28:00 -> 29:00 http://youtu.be/ETLJKBkLkb8

      Feel free to ask 1.) + 2.)

      These are my last 2 Cents to this discussion.

      Best regards, Fronti

        You'll find a great many originals here including the badly translated 131n you linked to previously. page 175 of Bd2 is what you are looking for and as you will see, no rank is stipulated for the company commander

        Here's a couple more examples including one that even quotes which KstN each kompanie is based on and disproves what you are saying.
