A while ago I bought a small group of pictures.
The pictures where taken in Bussum / Holland in early 1945 (february - march I guess).
I haven't seen that much pictures before from 1945 where troops seems pretty relaxed.
Within a few weeks or months these troops most probarly must have seen some action on Dutch soil.

In the background of the second picture the church of Bussum can be seen.

Here's a Holland related Wehrpass I picked up from the e-stand lately. Walter Mielke served as an artillery man on the Eastern Front until he lost a finger in March 1943, earning him the EK2, Ostmedaille, Verwundetenabzeichen and Demjanskschild. After his recovery, he joined Artillerie-Regiment 890 of the 190. Infanterie-Division in September 1944. This division was deployed with the Fallschirm-Armee in the Reichswald and in Holland until the end of the war. On December 28th, 1944, he was wounded by shrapnel in Venlo.

                            And last, awards and wounds.

Here is another Wehrpass from soldier who was in 190.ID during the bitter and desperate last months of WW2... Battle hardened Eastern Front veteran Oberleutnant Karl Wirth served in Panzerjäger-Abteilung 190. He earned PKA in bronze, EK2 and 1, all three WVA, Ostmedaille and NKS in bronze.
