Well I think those photos are stunning and tell the tale. There are definite, yet subtle differences between the two that would suggest two dies. Any further thoughts on these?

That's a beautiful medal ! ! !

At start I was worried . . . seeing only the medal . . . but then came the
ribbon and the case ( I just love cased medals ).

Anyway, congratulations, I hope I will be able to get 2 of these ( with and
without swords ) in the future.

Getting back to the trash story, a friend of mine had as an old family friend in Germany one of the Stalingrad generals, Edler von Daniel. When he died in the late 80's, his widow took all his memorabilia and threw it out. Tragic.
