I know there isn't a connection, but it has always seemed to me that these RKs were "this company's" attempt at an Ubergross EK which they turned into an RK. The soldered loop being something of an afterthought.

Obviously there is no connection between makers, but it would be interesting to know why this company went in this direction and all the other RK makers made the loop integral with the frame. Great photos.

Before you turn some "excellent theory" into gospel, consider this....

Ubergross are smaller in dimensions than RKs.

3/4 ring RK is of RK dimensions.

Then there is the original artist rendering of what an RK would look like,
found in Deumer's catalogue from Oct 1939....

That "Excellent Theory" has only one little hick-up - the ring is not soldered on but part of the frame.
