That's true Dietrich, I recently misspoke and called a bad looking SC eagle a swept back example. I was criticized. I'd say that without any documentation or a closer look it's a real stretch for me to own one of these. But that's my opinion...

and....don't call me Dietrich!!! He's better lookin'
Is the picture a mistake....? Sometimes we get so caught up in things that we can't 'talk' around it so we ignore it and worse yet get so very loud and abusive about it....
Either way it seems to create an aura of doubt unfortunately....Regards,
Dave

Okay,
I give up!
I admit to the fact that I have to live with the new catalog from Detlev with a picture of an unknown maker of the Ritterkreuz and a market price of Euro 4,000.- but without any further explanation from the author regarding provenance, backgrounmd or whatever.
Okay, I'm sure there is a reason for this. Maybe I'm just annoying.

Still Nothing?
I'm also interested of hearing something more of that particular item.

Just read the other thread, maybe J. Nimmergut knows?
I mean that maybe Mr. Nimmergut can invent the maker here as he did on that other cross

Detlev Niemann
Hello Dietrich.
I have already sayd what I have to say about this KC.
In my eyes and from all quality details it's an original for me.
It is not a Juncker made cross, nor is it (very funny) a modern made copy to look like a Juncker cross.
As I don't know who was the maker I didn't write any allegedly maker name, nor do I poke in my nose and make up an answer.
There are enough unmarked badges that are original, but we are not able to point them down to a special maker. Time might help.
From a business point of view a "classic" Juncker is a better investment than a "Schickel" or this unknown maker, so a "classic" Juncker commands a higher price.
Logic and easy.

Hi Detlev!
Thanks again for "tuning in".
I was reading thru the whole thread again and I did not find any reference from my side that this is a fake nor that I thought you would know the maker and just not tell. Neither did I want you to poke a maker out of your nose .
I, at least, was hoping to learn more about the 'story' of this cross. Direct veteran buy or such. Award date. Other circumstances. Provenance...
You say that based on your visual inspection and the quality it is a pre-45 piece and that is all you can tell. Fair enough for me.
Thank you again for your answer.
Dietrich
