        Nathan,
Why not persure a example with no baggage? EK2s are common as dirt and there are literally thousands of them available. Save yourself some possible grief in the future and obtain an accepted wartime example.

These cross's are controversial, just like the Souval EK1 with the dipping 3. There is no hard evidence that these were made during the war. The problem is Souval made medals for many years after the war and many believe these are post war pieces.

            Hi,
Of course, I'm not 100% sure (but who is it?), however I think it is the cross of Souval's war-time. But of course it's just IMO

And I'm quite sure, Your meant: RUDOLF Souval, not ROBERT Souval.

                Kind regards, Peter

                    Jarek and Sanya,

What characteristics of a wartime Souval EK2 do you see here?
                    Best regards,

It is a wartime cross, I have an awarded Souval EK2 that I got from the family in Germany and that one loos identical to mine. My EK2 came with the full group including all his awards, ID Disc, award documents, photo album and his Soldier's Book.

But that cross has a totally different core -- one which most of us have long agreed is a "wartime-only" core (the Schenkl 27 core). So I fail to see its relevance to the EK2 under discussion here (attached below).

I hate to be a contrarian, but I disagree. It is well-known that these characteristics can be found on postwar Souvals.

                              Hi Trevor

when you write "the Schenkl 27 core" you say the core we find on crosses marked 27 or that core is produced by Schenkl ?
