      Haven't seen these before

For the Oaks & Swords, I have never seen an example like his before. I have one other question, not to get us off-track, but is Bill Stump no longer with us?

A great loss...but particularly so because of 'politics' and 'business' interests........he spoke his mind, was foul mouthed and confrontational but was a window to the 60's through the 80's and the crap that went on.....

Now we have 4,5 and maybe even 6 VARIENTS of L 12 Oaks...

            Sad all the way around!

The first oaks pictured appear to have been finished off with micro files, or as someone else put it 'appears to be cut with a hacksaw blade'. Just an observation from an experienced micro file user.

Just back from a small Militaria show....the fakes and the prices were outrageous!!!

I can't believe there's no out-cry regarding the content of this post...which leads me to suspect people just don't care and will buy and believe anything!!!

                      Dave,

I don't understand it either. Logic tells me that there should be some interest in this. Not only beacuse of the multitude of oaks from Juncker but more so about the cold blooded marketing approach by some dealers. No explanation, no nothing.

In my little mind I think that If one can do it (or dare to do it) with oaks and oaks and swords (and there is a precedence) then one would do it day in and day out with "minor" things.

I also understand that the broad mass of our members is more interested in EK2 and EK1 and I'm certainly not into buying oaks, but this is the visual tip of the ice berg and nobody is concerned about it. That concerns me a great deal.

                        a "Museum display"

                        b "Storefront display"

                        c "Private puchase"

                        d "Commerically produced"

I'm leaning towards "d", "Commercially produced". And recently.

What level of concern do you think people should have over a dealer selling a questionable piece? And even if they become outraged, how are they supposed to express that? By going to Weitze's with torches and pitchforks?

                            George,

                            thats was a twofold question:

                            a. the level of concern should be very high....

                            b. the 'electronic' equivalent of torches and pitchforks should do. And this is in no way a Weitze problem. I bought from him and I will in the future. It is a dealer problem in general.

                              Ja! Finally, a plan emerges.

                              What hump?

Well, sure the concern level should be high about people selling fakes. I thought that was a given. But all dealers (and other sellers) have done it, whether intentionally or not. It's nothing new. As far as I feel, the concern level is the same as it's always been. These Swords and Oaks don't make it any different.
