25 - Generalleutnant Theodor Tolsdorff: awarded the Diamonds March 18th 1945. The location of the awards is unknown, and there where no documents produced.

A diamond piece currently on display at the Internationales Maritimes Museum (Hamburg).

I have sent an email to the museum staff asking for more detailed photos of the back, if possible.

GFM Kesselring's diamonds on May 1945, during the aftermath of the surrender in Austria.

Kerstin von Lingen, author of the book: "Kesselring's last battle", states that on 15 May 1945, Kesselring was taken to Mondorf-les-Bains where his baton and decorations were taken from him and he was incarcerated.

His baton was sold at a auction house in Baltimore 3 or 4 years ago.

- Kesselring Type A 2nd form Diamonds set resides in a private collection.

- Both batons (formal and daily service baton) are in private collections also.

Kesselring's decorations

Di Kesselring or his family sell the baton and decorations or were they just taken as war booty? If the latter, who sold them at the auction?

If i can remember correctly the baton was his formal one which was damaged and a American veteran had the auction house sell it.

Me neither. Where did you find it. The detail on the collar tabs, shoulder boards and awards is outstanding, especially the tabs
