              Think the story is that the wife wore the oaks as a brooch and then donated them. This is from my memory. More than a year ago I visited the museum. Highly recommended.

                What I heard is the museum bought the diamond piece from Luth's widow ,not the widow donated it to the museum.

                          A few awards ceremony for the Diamonds, all in the year 1944. The dates correspond to the meetings with AH and the oficial presentation of the brillanten.

                          - Oberst Helmut Lent (31.07.1944)

                          - SS-Oberstgruppenführer Sepp Dietrich (10.08.1944)

                          - Major Erich Hartmann (30.08.1944)

                          - Fregattenkapitän Albrecht Brandi (05.12.1944)

                                Sadly, the platinum piece was stolen from a collection in Germany many years ago.
