              Thanks Eric. It sure looks worn as hell, but it does not look messed with now. I actually like the worn crosses. Granted the rust takes away some, but now the core looks straight. Thanks Eric.

                    Good lesson here on why NOT to mess w/ stuff...see how the postwar "help" clouded the assessment of this piece?

                        Thanks for the advice of the soap and warm water. I am glad to see it was just oil, as the core looked quite terrible with that gloss. Thanks again, guys.
