Interesting you should mention this Ben .
I was looking into them the last little while as well . Actualy going over the interesting identifying details M & S had published .Surprizingly - not magnetic cores are not mentioned in "The Book" . I would think myself them being so rare that not enough information or samples were available at the time of printing ???? Iron core version only is noted .
I searched here and on other foren and found none . Is yours marked L59 ?

        Hi Douglas,

it's unmarked, and has the Deschler-style pin and L/15 catch.
I would have expected to find more of these, but so far: none....

Pics still don't work, will try again tomorrow....

Let me try the pictures if you like .
That means it has the corner chip as shown on page 364 bottom .
Another one with different hard ware will show up soon and yours will have company .

                Hi Ben,

A very interesting cross. Why do you think it is an L59?

I think your cross has this interesting flaw on the side:

Another one of this type was shown recently HERE.

                This is the cross:

I can't say anymore what is true about this strange cross, except that it is also seen with different pin, L/18 mark:

According to Daniel AKA Grueni, this cross has the same frame as the 333 fake EK2:

I am thoroughly confused about this cross

Is it possible we will see more in the near future, because they are only now being made?

                My big question is:

Can anyone look at their 16 marked EK2, or their L59 marked EK1, and say if this strange flaw appears on the side of the beading?

                  Hi Trevor,

do not make too much books open

The shown EK1 from Ben doesn't match to the frame structure you shown.

Let me try to get some answer on an other thread and let follow an unmagnetic L59 on this thread.

Hope we can learn on both threads

Or am I wrong? The L/18 thin pinsetup is not magnetic too!

                    Hi Stefan,

To me, all three frames match. Do you disagree?

Trevor, I call it an L59 mainly because of the hardware.
I haven't compared the frames yet 9can't find the bloody magnifier) but this hardware was used by a small number of makers only.
Since it is no L/15 nor an L/18 I presume it's an L59 (Luud saw the pics and he says the same thing).

I have the same L/18 as Stefan has.
I also have an L59 an unmarked Orth and an L/56 with the same hardware.

The L/18 and the L59 came 3 years apart, so it is hard to believe that these are indeed fakes.
The L/18 comes from a reliable contact,he got it from the relatives of the recipient.

Faking this kind of wear and aging I very hard, can't believe these are fakes, but I will give them another inspection and will try to up better pics in the coming days.

                        Ben,

If you like this cross and think it is good, then I am totally confused.

Another one of this type can be found in The Iron Time 2nd Ed. p. 298 with a (fake) inscription from Dönitz on the reverse.

When you have some time, can you please show the side of the hinge where it meets the pin, like this?

although it does have the flaw in the ribbing....
