Hallo, I also tried to buy it, for me it's an orginal K&Q frame and loop, i only wondered about the core and the damages. I think, a good deal.

First "Honest" Sale Of A K&Q Ritterkreuz?

OK, let's be honest. Who sells (or buys) a truly fake cross for 850 euros? This is simply the case of Dietrich's book causing the market to fall apart for these, and dealers trying to dump them...which is a sad state of affairs. I've said this before many times...but those who think that KQ crosses are rare hasn't looked at period photos of lat war recipients. Most were awarded KQ crosses from the 1944 era on. They are easy to spot in portraits. I think someone got one HELL of a deal on a perfectly original cross.....

Is this possibly a cross made from real leftover (and not very well stored) parts? With a core that was a reject because of the distortions in the dates, and a frame on which the '800' mark was poorly stamped (and accordingly not used)?
Just purely guessing and trying to understand why Weitze would do this.
Are the grey areas on the arms (on both sides above the swastika) solder drips?

Really, that is not a helpful answer. What is it specifically, in your personal opinion, that makes this one so obviously a fake?Best regards,
