            weight

I forgot to mention that the cross weighs 34g. which ties in with the weights in the combat badges vol 2 book.

From my references, the cross looks ok, but not the 'CEJ' mark. Also, I can't recall seeing an early gold/silver cross with 'CEJ' not accompanied by '800' or '900'.

I'd be curious to hear what others say about this one too.

In the photo in post 4, there seems to be some pock marks ?

my feeling is that this one is a forgery in high degree. its silver finishs tell me, as well as the CEJ marks.
Maybe I am wrong, we'll the expertise.....

I don't like it, ....maker mark doesn't look right, here is picture of real CEJ maker mark next to the one in question.

....and SC looks kind of new - like it was made yesterday.

Those aren't pock marks, just stains or dirt?

Any more opinions would be appreciated?
I read a 6 year old thread on this forum referring to CEJ maker marks without a silver content mark? Has there been no further developments on this, as these awards were also manufactured in silvered tombac post the original silver presentation pieces? ( which did have the silver content mark).
                      Thanks,
                      Tintin

Tintin, I recommend you PM members Sal Williams and Jacques to have them look at it - they're fairly experienced with Spanish Crosses. Can you post the link to the thread discussing gold/silver CEJ crosses without silver marks?

                        Thanks.
