      ...IMO there is only one die of these first types. there are only 2 different set ups of the hinge catch and needle.
      the very early ones that came in the cases without the printed eagle have the " block" hinge , wire catch and scallobed pin.
      The later 1° models came in cases with a printed eagle on the box have a thin hinge staight needle and a flat wire catch.

        Hi Pieter,

        That is very interesting information. I too have seen the "scalloped" or swollen pin versions. Can you please post a photo of the correct (un-printed) case for that type? I would be very happy to see one.
