I don't know whether this COA is a fake or not (and I do not care at all!). Clear is, however, that it refers to the piece in question.

COA of Detlev Niemann
Hello Dietrich,
This is definitely not a real expertise of Detlev Niemann in my opinion.
That Niemann’s expertise is a fake maybe using by original components like the hologram for
example. The signature has obviously been not written fluently but it has been falsified.
Also earlier, copies of his expertises have already appeared occasionally on the market also
in the Wehrmacht-Award forum.

I really only try to do my best with some opinions regarding the very small area I seem to have a little bit of a knowledge. As I said, I have no idea whether the COA is good or bad - but it seems that there is a market for another set of COAs. A COA about the COA of Mr. Niemann. But I will not be the one to study that subject.
Fact is this: the oaks are not good and were sold with this expertise. This makes it even more fraudulent IMHO (if the COA is a fake and I certainly can believe that) since the owner now has the burden of not only disputing the actual piece but also the COA.

I believe this piece was offered by a German on eBay. I emailed him and we talked on the phone. The thing however was that I wanted to have a second opinion on the piece from a dealer I know. The seller then became hesitant and a few days later told me he had an American willing to buy the piece for 5000 no questions asked. As I had offered him 6000 for it this was a bit strange. I continued to insist on a second opinion and then never heard from him again. This had fraud written all over it.

I cannot show more or detailed photos of the piece at present.
I have made my opinion on this Oakleaves, but I would really like to know your opinions on this piece.
Many thanks in advance.
