    S&L Die

Dave, great thread with some great photos. I think this just reinforces what most have already believed, but I'm sure that their will always be some doubters.

        Conclusive

Thanks Dave...great shots, and it shows (IMO) conclusive evidence of repair to the FEMALE die.....lets be accurate .

As you know, my belief is that the male was the "hub" from which the female was produced....

Here is an interesting 1957 S&L cross, front frame 800 marked, no flaws BUT definite signs of repair. Back frame heavily flawed.......

So, not just one, or even 2 repairs to the dies over time, but perhaps several???

Dave, where on earth did you find that frame?

I did and I no intention of it being offensive, that is just a really good quote to discribe the S.S. position on the Holocaust. I changed to avoid such assumptions, and thank you Chris and Deitrich for informing me that it is too suggestive.

Chris, looking at the 'reverse' of the frame it would appear that the (male) was severely flawed as well. Several splits and many dents/pocks appear on the underside NOT evident however on the top (face) of the frame and the flaws appearing on the frame top do not appear on the underside.
                                Regards,
                                Dave
