I'd be curious as to why the front was filed down like that. I can't see anything being THAT worn...

That's the moist logical explanation. it would fit just perfectly through the EK1 loops in a refular Uniform. According to the guy I have it from it was a KM Soldier who used this as his Uniform Piece, keeping the original EK1 stashed away.Originally posted by Ian Lim View Post

Nice piece. As I recall, there are similar examples of 1914 EK2s converted to EK1s in the "Iron Time" utilizing the same construction techniques/pin arrangement etc.

Hehe - I wish, Hank - unfortunately that one had been sold seperately before, I dunno who to or when, the set torn apart, what a sin.... Here's a nice set I got yesterday (unfotunately missing the October1st 1938 Medaille...). One Man, One Grouping.... Let them stay together, they belong together....

I'm not using my usual computer lately, and sadly don't have the pics on hand, but it's a lead cast 1939 EK1. No provenance though, so it gets a place in my collection by only a wish and a prayer.
I do have another upgrade of a 1914 EK, same style, but sorry no pics at the mo.
Dietrich has a couple too, he may see this thread and post them if we're lucky.
