The craftmanship of setting the over 100 stones is absolutely amazing. Some of them are very, very tiny!

Even the small date plate is framed by 10 diamonds.

Since I had the opportunity to study all three pieces I could work on the common spots and the differences. It is clear that no piece is like the other in a lot of respects: number of diamonds, weight, date, marking.

Every piece is a unique one!

Yes Pieter, you are right with the missing cases - it is a shame. However, I was very astonished to see how well in shape they are w/o the missing cases! All three were 'fixed' to a cardboard display and I was lucky that the curator allowed me to take them off.

What do you exactly mean by "less stones - more value"???

The count for the diamonds is:

6570 : 118 pieces
6571 : 90 pieces
6572 : 97 pieces

... give or take a few. It's tough to count. I think what Pieter meant is less stones = bigger stones = higher value.

Sad thing is they are STOLEN from a US veteran in 1950.
For the treassure department off the US. West Point museum
Normaly , These were in private collection .
Never to see for the public...
