Excellent addition to your already fantastic collection!

Is this type Juncker included in the discussion on Juncker RK variants Pieter started a few weeks ago?

Sadly, we are still waiting for Pieter to discuss ANYTHING in that thread....

The fact that the '2' is face down is what makes it a variant - the core is no different to the normal Lazy 2's.

            Nice cross Kevin.

            regards

            Marshall

Nice crosses guys! Interesting about the deterioration on the core. It may be caused by residue from the flux used to solder the frame together and under certain humid conditions the flux creeps into the core and rusts the core.

I wonder when the day will come when all RK's belong to either Pieter or Kevin?

I've seen the same rot on EKI's and EK2'. I believe it is electrolisis, air movement w/some humidity that eats into metal over time regardless of how slight. I've been able to apply gun oil and stop the process on my crosses. Gun Oil also helps zinc from rotting as well. WD-40 works just as well.

Damn, Gary that's like putting BBQ sauce on a good steak!!!

They have lasted (this) long so I'd suggest to just watch the handling and environment.
                              Regards,
                              Dave

Electrolysis - forgot about that. As for WD-40, it's a tool of the devil I've seen gun finishes ruined because of it and it leaves a greasy residue behind that collects dust, filth and whatever is in the air. I also believe it will migrate behind any paint and seperate it from the metal. Petroleum jelly works well with zinc rot as we know but I still am concerned about leaving it on the zinc after treatment.
