It has an interesting deterioration of the finish. I have a "Lazy 2" with a similar trait, and I've seen others with it. I wonder what causes it?

Here's another "Lazy 2"exhibiting a similar finish deterioration. (This is not my RK or photo, so I hope that it's okay with the owner of either/or that I use it.)

                      Hello Kevin,
I had one in mint condition, although it now resides in another collection.

                          Hello Kevin,
No, it was one I sold around 10 years ago or so (for a lot less money in those days!). I remember that I noticed the 2 laying opposite of the usual way, and, after checking with some other friends, was advised that it was just a variation.
