My sentiments as well. It is a pretty good fake, though.

Are there examples of this type of cross on the forum? I know there was a type of few years ago that had the cross hatching down very well in the central part of the cross. However, that also had cross hatching at the corners.

I am aware of that fake. The one I posted is different than the fake in the referenced thread ( to my eyes). It looks like they cleaned up the central beading but forgot about the corners.

That is why I posted this. Check out the outer corners.

I'd almost have the Oaks checked in the 57er forum as they look postwar S&L, but may be fake too. Worth more than the cross if they're okay.

You are quite right.

I have one of these somewhere. If you want, I can sell it to you (as a fake of course).

I think that this is one that needs to be brought out periodically, as it looks very, very good. If the corners were "worn", I don't think you could tell the difference until you looked under a loupe.

I put this cross and oaks for sale in the "bizarre" area for $500 plus shipping. I would think that is a good price, as it is of very high quality, but not an original wartime cross and oaks.

I know that. I am selling them on the bizarre for $500 as fakes. There is no attempt to deceive anyone and they are identified as fakes. It's just $500, so I really don't care much one way or another if someone buys them. They are just good filler/display items.

I posted these, as they are a scary good fake and everyone should download these pics for side by comparison, as one could get fooled by glancing at the RK. I would not be surprised if people have attempted to pass these off as the real deal, as they are pretty close.
