    Heavy Zimm

Nope, it's not there. (And it's not rotated around anywhere else on the piece either.)

I think you are on the wrong group of "rays", George. It is the first group to the left of the 12 oclock rays.

You're right. That is the wrong set of rays. (Forgive me, I'm only on my third cup of coffee.... ) But the flaw still isn't on the ten o'clock rays either.

Interesting..... There is another small flaw on that sunburst that your piece lacks as well. What is that "dot" on the center ray?

Does this piece have all the other small flaws on the wreath?

The dot on the center ray is just a blemish. It is not raised or indented. And yes, this piece has all of the flaws on the wreath.

Does the date to this piece have more flawing in the "4" and the "9" than the other pieces you have?

Gee, that's a tough call. But here is the date on the Heavy.

                          Thanks George

I wonder if the flaw on the sunburst occurred after initial production. The early zimmermans are presumed heavy. I would guess that it is quite possible that the flaw on the sunburst developed over time. If one were to find a zimmerman without the flaw, it would make sense for it to be a heavy zimmerman.

and here is from my light 20.

My light and heavy 20 were made in a time very closed because they are identical, as can see from date flaws die and in rivets too.

So do you think that the small differences seen are late vs early pieces with progression of flaws over time? I have noticed also that the strikes of the kleins tend not to be as sharp as the zimmermans. A later production run? Thanks
