Friedrich-August "Fritz" Meyer...Yes he was a member of the OdR. He passed away on 4 Jan. 1971. He is listed in George Peterson's HG book also, with some war time pic's. My OdR books show him as an early member in good standing and of course a verified RK winner. The war time photos show him wearing all the decorations accept the RK. That's all I can offer on him. The earliest I have with a long suspension loop is early 1990's.......perhaps the longer loops were additional extras, for ease of wearing with the tailored cravat type ribbons we see veterans wearing with dinner suits ? just a thought......
Prost ! Steve.
