Hi Sepp Old Friend !!! This photo of Werner Panitzki is interesting in the fact that he was one of only 30 or so Bundesluftwaffe men to have been awarded the German Cross in silver ! Photos are pretty rare showing these ! Thanks ! Tom

I'm glad you enjoyed the photos, my dear friends.

Now, this photo has no "medals" but it's a rare view: the funeral of SS-Obergruppenführer Herbert-Otto Gille, December 26th, 1966.

This is one of the few examples I've seen of the ceremony..

Sepp I don't know where you find all these, but they keep getting better and better.

Guys I'm wondering if the illusive RKT bearing Sepp's coffin in post 798 isn't this guy found in Sepp's RK thread, post 338, Obersturmführer Hans Hoffritz

Does anyone know if Otto Fretter-Pico and Maximilian Fretter-Pico were members of the OdR?

                    Regards,

Hi Nick, I checked the OdR members books I have. Only Max (1892-1984) was an OdR member. I show no membership for his brother Otto (1893-1966). I met Max in 1978 at the OdR reunion. Tom

That's great news, many thanks Tom! Now I can put a full name to my although damaged, but original OdR stickpin.

Are there any postwar photos of him?

                          Best regards,
                          Nick

I'll check to see about postwar photo's. I know all I have is the signed pic in WW2 uniform. I don't recall seeing any postwar, but we''ll see. Also I sent an email to my OdR contact to see if Otto may have been an Honorary member since his early death in 1966 may have been a reason for no member file that I have. I'll let you know ASAP. Tom
