Hi Sepp Old Friend !!! This photo of Werner Panitzki is interesting in the fact that he was one of only 30 or so Bundesluftwaffe men to have been awarded the German Cross in silver ! Photos are pretty rare showing these ! Thanks ! Tom

Now, this photo has no "medals" but it's a rare view: the funeral of SS-Obergruppenführer Herbert-Otto Gille, December 26th, 1966.

This is one of the few examples I've seen of the ceremony..

Hi Nick, I checked the OdR members books I have. Only Max (1892-1984) was an OdR member. I show no membership for his brother Otto (1893-1966). I met Max in 1978 at the OdR reunion. Tom

I'll check to see about postwar photo's. I know all I have is the signed pic in WW2 uniform. I don't recall seeing any postwar, but we''ll see. Also I sent an email to my OdR contact to see if Otto may have been an Honorary member since his early death in 1966 may have been a reason for no member file that I have. I'll let you know ASAP. Tom

Hello again Nick, Well I spoke to soon...I have received an answer back that Otto WAS in fact a member of the OdR for about 5 years ! Sorry about that, but my member info only goes back to 1968. Tom
