      Great photo's of Rebane's medals!!
Although Rebane died in Germany in 1976, his ashes were re-buried in Estonia in 1999, with great ceremony, looking at the first photo, I would think that's more likely to be from the reburial in 1999??
      Thanks again Sepp!!!

Very rare photo of Alfons Rebane wearing his RK in 1975, among other Knight's Cross holders.

                  Hartmann

                  Dear Sepp,

That latetest picture you shown of Erich Hartmann in his Bundesluftwaffe uniform,it looks like a closeup version from a picture of Hartmann and his wife and daughter from the book "The Blond Knight Of Germany". Am I right? I know that Hartmann had short hair before his passing away in 1993.

                  Sincerely,

                  Edward L. Hsiao

Hi Edward, as Tom pointed out, it's the same picture. I found one with better resolution, so I added here.

Excellent photos Pierce, thanks I remember adding here a picture from a video still showing the ribbon bar of Hartmann, during his years with the Bundesluftwaffe: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...&postcount=425

But color photos are always better! Thanks again.

                          Regards,
                          Sepp.

Is that a tan GAF uniform Hartmann is wearing? I've not seen one of those before (admittedly I'm not fully schooled in the history of GAF uniforms).

Scott, it is indeed the "Sandfarben" uniform, worn from 1959 to 1970 by Officers and NCO's mit portepee.....and then after 1970 by all ranks. It may be worn from 1st April to 31st September each year by men serving (Training) in the following areas.........USA, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Southern France. It was worn by all branches of the Bundeswehr.
                              Prost ! Steve.
