    I have p**** envy...

Some excellent, recent additions! BOTH of the army postal patches are very impressive.

The 49th has always been one of my favorites, too. Your bullion example is simply amazing...

Thanks to those of you keeping this great thread alive!!!!!

When I started collecting WW2 US shoulder sleeve insignia in grammar school, my parents would take me, once a month, downtown Chicago to the “Chicago Military Store” (long ago defunct).

The store owner, who took a liking to me (or my Mom), would let me pick out three patches for 25 cents.

Each time I went there I hoped to find this one, never having any success. Only many years later did I realize why, it was a ‘Phantom unit’! The 59th Infantry Division.

Unofficial insignia for ‘The Irish Marines’, the USMC Londonderry Battalion.

"The ‘Irish Marines’ of World War II were part of the 1st Provisional Marine Battalion that landed in Northern Ireland on May 12, 1942. These Marines spent two years guarding the Naval Operations Base that was vital to the Battle of the Atlantic. (departed August 18, 1944).”

My last one for all the ‘Airborne crew’.

IMHO, likely the finest 17th AB patch to survive WW2, “No brag, just fact”.

The end of the year is near and my time grows short.

Today, a 66th Infantry Division patch (with ‘attitude’).

Try as I might, I could not capture the detail in this 'animal's' coat.

Somewhere in this thread I might have mentioned that my primary collecting interest is the field of WW2 German Panzer/Armor items.

Perhaps this comes from my Uncle, who served in the 820th TD battalion.

And from very young the insignia design of the US tank Destroyers has always been a favorite with me (please excuse the coastal artillery/anti aircraft ‘interloper’).

It probably hasn't been said enough, but this thread has been amazing and I look forward to every new post that is added.
