Red Japanese Soldier Stamp on Flag

A "Cupman" special. This same flag has featured on two WAF posts, one by

Oceansider on 13 March 2020, and the other by Manayunkman on 22 March 2020.

Both images show the REVERSE side of the flag; however, I reversed the first image so we can see what it would look like from the obverse side (which would have been much clearer).

Dunno why people post images of flags incorrectly when there is a clear stamp on one side that makes it pretty clear which side is the obverse and which is the reverse.

The two kanji 水杳 mean "water" and "dark/unknown". Unless he meant three kanji: 水木日 water, wood/tree, and sun.
