I will be posting the names of E-Bay scum bags that approached the seller AFTER the auction ended with higher offers on an item I WON, and PAID for...

I will also seek their suspension from E-Bay for costing me thousands of dollars more to obtain the item.

Well, it seems everyone is going after the guys that tried to buy the helmet after the sale, which I agree with.
However, the seller, walleyeslayer, is also a scumbag for reneging on the sale which met all guidelines he had originally set for the sale. Because he didn't do his due diligence in determining a value is no excuse for not honoring the sale. I would never buy from this guy under any circumstances and have emailed him stating the same. I urge everyone to do this.

The seller... on the other hand... I will not pursue. I agreed not to follow up with E-Bay with regard to his action.

If he wasn't approached by these SOB's... he wouldn't have been in this situation.

I must admit.... If I sold something for $600... and another guy offers $5K.... I would be too tempted to look the other way.

Once I have the helmet in my hands... I will insist he provides names.

I do suspect at least two are members of the forum. I have way too many issues with a certain person in Italy following my bidding... and interfering.

I will bet the most they will do is send a warning to the offenders. Their other big threat is to stop your account which means the person just opens another ebay account with a different credit card. I like ebay, but the scammers and cheaters are too much! Helmetbuyer should hold the seller accountable, unfortunately it would cost more in legal fees than paying the seller off. So much for user agreements and our legal system.

your experience is an exact recreation of one I had 2 years ago. Caught a nice 2.5x sniper scoipe on buy it now for $25. Some of you might remember this. Paid the seller within 2 minutes following the auction win. Well, several ebayers saw it happen and contacted the seller. Don't know exactly what they said but from the sellers communication to me, he quckly realized he made a huge mistake, refunded my payment and refused to complete the sale and send me the scoipe .I advised him to follow through on his transaction - which I believe is a legal contract, whatever that means as far as ebay is concerned. but he didn't and informed me he was ending email communication with me after we exchanged several emails and I pointed all this out to him. He relisted the scope about 5 months later. Immeidately after the auction, I contacted ebay to complain, used the mediation service, and all the proper protocols - I knew I was wasting my time, and in the end, it was a waste. i repeatedly requested ebay furnish me with the IDs of the individuals who contacted the seller, but they only responded with short reponses that were really auto-replies 'all investigations and regarding othe rmembers is confidential, blah ,blah. . ." It used to be you could go to an auction and get a deal. Not online however. Too MUCH public exposure. Too many unhappy people who missed the deal and/or too many honest people who want to inform sellers of what they have or that they made a mistake - by doing that, AFTER an auction is completed, they destroy one of the primary incentives of why people bid in auctions. WHEN AN AUCTION TRANSACTION IS COMPLETED/OVER - DON'T INTERFERE. IT'S DONE!!!! Do people run up to the podium at sotheby's after an item is sold and call out to the seller, 'Attention, seller. ARe you here? Your item just sold for a fraction of what it's worth. they undersold your item." there's a combination of problems here including the format of ebay 'auctions' is really just a retail store with some traditional auction mechanics adopted to online format. The ability to contact the seller of items creates this problem. If the seller's identity is not known and they could not be contacted through ebay or by email after an auction (hard to do) we wouldn't have this problem.

You are absolutely... 100% corect on E-Bay... and with regard to transactions...

E-Bay won't give me info. on other folks... so... it will have to come from the seller.

I will try to get these guys suspended.... since... they appear to be doing this with other people as well.

Moreover.... I will post their E-Bay user names on the forum... for all to see.

I am already positive on one guy... but... want the seller to confirm.

I got the helmet today!! It looks great...

so he wont help you out...and ebay....ebay is just an eletronic sale game..with nothing else behind it...no one will ever help you with anything,..

the gentlemanly thing to have done, would have been to
respect the sale,,,
if the guy was in a bind the second most gentlemanly thing to do would have been to split the difference between buy it now price and market price....

I still got a great deal on the helmet... and am very pleased...
