I'm still working on the bunker, so there was not much time to take some new pictures of pickelhauben... Nevertheless, here's a M95 Off. Wurtemberg in very good condition. I know, I know... the neckguard is deformed a bit, but I couldn't resist...

Next to the Prussian ones, Württemberg pickelhaubes are probably my second favorite. Excellent example!

Interestingly, there is only one "Münst" in the Rangliste for 1898 (just a random date I decided to check.) He was Leutnant in Infanterie-Regiment (10. Württ) Nr. 180.

I'm not saying this is his Pickelhaube, but it is an interesting lead, especially since he was in a Württemberger regiment.

I can certainly check.

By that, I mean only one officer. The Rangelisten do not contain EM or NCOs, unfortunately.

There was a Major Franz Münst in IR.180. He was killed in action on July 5, 1915 at Achiet le Grand.

There was also a Leutnant Wilhelm Münst in the same regiment.

These are the only two with that name in the postwar Ehren=Rangliste. So your helmet had to belong to one or the other. Lucky the name wasn't Müller!

Nice work! It's very interesting that you mention the name "Müller." When I was looking at the Ranglisten, I thought the same thing about that last name, there are tons of them!
