    Pickelhaube Off. Inf. Wurtemberg

I'm still working on the bunker, so there was not much time to take some new pictures of pickelhauben... Nevertheless, here's a M95 Off. Wurtemberg in very good condition. I know, I know... the neckguard is deformed a bit, but I couldn't resist...

    Enjoy,

    Adler

Another stunner; you are able to find the headgear that's in the best possible condition. Congratulations.

Next to the Prussian ones, Württemberg pickelhaubes are probably my second favorite. Excellent example!

Interestingly, there is only one "Münst" in the Rangliste for 1898 (just a random date I decided to check.) He was Leutnant in Infanterie-Regiment (10. Württ) Nr. 180.

I'm not saying this is his Pickelhaube, but it is an interesting lead, especially since he was in a Württemberger regiment.

Now that's very interesting information! Do you think you can find other Wurtembergers with this name?

          I can certainly check.

As I said, in 1898, there was only one Münst in the entire German Army and he just happened to be a Leutnant in a Württemberg regiment.

By that, I mean only one officer. The Rangelisten do not contain EM or NCOs, unfortunately.

There was a Major Franz Münst in IR.180. He was killed in action on July 5, 1915 at Achiet le Grand.

There was also a Leutnant Wilhelm Münst in the same regiment.

These are the only two with that name in the postwar Ehren=Rangliste. So your helmet had to belong to one or the other. Lucky the name wasn't Müller!

Nice work! It's very interesting that you mention the name "Müller." When I was looking at the Ranglisten, I thought the same thing about that last name, there are tons of them!

Thank you for continuing to show us these beautiful world class helmets. I,ve never seen such incredible examples before and the way they are presented and photographed is stunning.
