This cap was in my collection some years ago. A pre 1915 Bavarian Feldmuetze for a Reserve soldier! Reserve Kokarde with the inscription: In Treue Fest

          Next one!

This Kraetzchen looks like a late war made cap. It lost the Kokarden, late field grey (Einheitsfeldgrau), no markings inside, a repaired damage on the back and a black band (Artillerie, Pioniere?). First I thought it was a repro because the poor manufacturer quality. But all materials looked like period materials and I think it was a late war made item.

I would agree, later war with the subdued piping. Very neat! What does the lining look like? Mike.

The lining is not the normal lining! It is a kind of reserve material, too. It has the same colour, that is known from other Kraetzchen. But the material is softer than usual! Not all things were bad at the end of war!

Figured I would bring this back to the top since the Imperial interest seems to be growing a bit. Anyone like to add? Mike.
