    Show us your Imperial mutzes

Wanted to start a fun Imperial thread. Let's see those fabulous Imperial German feldmutze's. Get them out of their cases and show them off! I will start off with my two. The first is a nice 1915 dated Infantry mutze. The second being the later 1918 subdued Einheitsmutze seen in the last year of the war. Enjoy!! Mike.

I really love your caps Mike. The gabardine cloth early Kraetzchen is very sharp looking and the late war Einheitsfeldmuetze is textbook.

As for my small collection, I thought I'd start with a Pionier/Artillery (Tech. troops) cap marked with a Garde Bekleidungsamt and 1917 date stamp.

Kraetzchen #2 is an undated Infantry cap with its original camo cap band cover. It's my very first cap, bought back in the '91 at a local show. Only a faint 56 size stamp is visible.

The camo band is held in place at the rear with the original safety pin.

Leib-Kuerassier-Regiment "Grosser Kurfuerst" (Schlesisches) Nr. 1 Kraetzchen. The cap has a Prussian Reservist cockade and a variant Imperial cockade. It is named to a Gefreiter Kulle of 2. Escadron.

Just an fyi... the "Prussian" version Einheitsmütze was introduced by a KM order from July 20, 1917.

Chip, thanks for that info!! I have seen only 1918 dated examples. Were any formally issued in 1917? Mike.
