Your badge has a lot that I like to see on one of these. It is not a Juncker but it looks well made to me. The cloth does bother me a little. Has anyone seen period cloth like that?
Here is another MSSA I believe to be real, made by Carl Leburg of Strassburg. He also made uniform items for officers etc... I missed this one on ebay so if anyone knows where one is for sale please pm me.

Now to the badge. Note the details. Nice 3D design and good definition. It also has a slight curve to it for wear on the arm.
The reverse with maker mark. Carl can also be found spelled with a "K." I believe this is because the Germans and French traded this area several times during thier histories.
I bid on this badge too, but it went out of my range. It's an excellent example from a seldom seen maker. The backing material is an earlier lighter gray. A very good piece and worn too (notice the threads)!
